Merkur Razor

The founder was Emil Hermes, but since the name Hermes was already registered, he chose the Roman version Merkur. As early as 1900, production of the Merkur Safety Razor began. The design was slightly modified in 1935, but since then the design of the Merkur Razor has not changed.

In the decades that followed, various models of Merkur Double Edge Safety Razors were designed and launched on the market. Several patents were registered.

In 1996, the name was changed by a new owner to Merkur Stahlwaren. Today, Merkur is a well-known name in the world of wet shaving due to their high-quality safety razors.

Merkur Shaving and Moquer

In 2021, Moquer began to focus more on classic razors, and Merkur Solingen could not be left out. Germany has a long tradition with several quality brands, and Merkur is one of them.

Merkur Shaving Razor
