What is a sheet mask?
A sheet mask is a specific type of face mask. It consists of a thin sheet that you place over your face to hydrate your skin. It is not intended for cleansing, but rather to nourish your skin with anti-ageing ingredients.
Sheet mask for men
A sheet mask is usually not meant to cleanse your face, but purely to nourish and hydrate your skin with healthy ingredients. Perhaps still a relatively new category for men, but certainly not an unimportant one. Men's skin is different from women's skin and requires different products for proper care. What does a sheet mask do?
Although certain types of face masks are meant to cleanse your skin, a sheet mask is not. It is specifically designed for deep hydration of your skin. It usually contains various vitamins and extracts for ultimate face care.
A common ingredient in sheet masks is niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3. This vitamin protects your skin barrier and has anti-ageing properties. That is why sheet masks can also be used as an anti-ageing product to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Dark circles around your eyes are also reduced.
How often to use a sheet mask?
Just like with cleansing your skin, you can also overdo it when it comes to hydrating your skin. Excessive cleansing results in dry skin with red patches, but too much hydration leads to clogged pores, oily skin, and impurities.
It is therefore recommended to use a good sheet mask about once a week. Ideally, you use a sheet mask after cleansing your face. Just a moment for yourself while your skin is nourished with vitamins, natural oils, and extracts.
How long to leave a sheet mask on?
In general, each product package will indicate how long it is recommended to leave a sheet mask on, but usually it is around 10 to 20 minutes. Afterwards, you remove the sheet mask from your skin and gently massage any remaining lotion or gel into your skin.
